If you’ve been reading long enough, you’ll know that last year I flew to Ithaca to see Jenn’s sister. It was a great time except for one thing: our first flight (The very first one of my entire life) was delayed a crazy amount of time, leaving us stranded on the plane for over an hour. It was an awful time and one I wished I would never have to do again.
Then, I had to do it again.
Fortunately, the way there was completely fine. Aside from waking up at 3:30 am to get to the airport and having a very quick layover where we literally had to run to our next gate, things went about as smooth as possible and we made it on time to celebrate the graduation that night.
The problem was on the way back home, our first plane ended up getting super delayed. It seemed like everything was going to be fine and the plane was going to get just a little delayed at first, but the clock kept ticking and ticking until it turned out it was going to come a whole two hours later.
We ended up hunkering down in a QDoba and just went with the flow. It ended up working out though – we booked another flight that only ended up getting us to Milwaukee an hour and a half later than the original itinerary. That meant we still had some time to do the things we originally planned to do when we got in: get some good food at KPot (which was delicious!), flip through some records at Half Price Books, and get some coffee from Qamaria.
The drive home was very easy since we ended up getting on the road around 8:30pm.
I’m happy to be back home though, and I’m hoping I don’t have to deal with any airport Shenanigans anytime soon though – I don’t think my little heart could take it.
As you can imagine, I’m pretty tired from all of this and it’s why my post is coming to you a day late. To make up for that and the lack of writing, I have many many many photos below and I hope you enjoy! (PS: If you’re reading this via email, you may have to go to the post directly on Substack since there’s not enough room for all of the photos)
